179/514 Good Things

Today's good thing: On this date in 1942, FDR signed Executive Order 9066, calling for the removal of nearly all people of Japanese descent from the West Coast of the United States. They were to be rounded up and "contained" in internment camps, including camps in this state. Now, the state of California is planning on officially apologizing for its role in this act. There have been various apologies and acts of reparations on a national level since, but this is coming from a state level. A state that had a particularly large role in internment. I'm glad to see this is happening, and would love to see the rest of the West Coast states follow suit.
