11/1459 Good Things

Today's good thing: Debt forgiveness is always a good thing. It's such a good thing, it even made it into the Lord's Prayer. If only more people practiced what they prayed...!

9/1459 Good Things

Today's good thing: We focus on endangered animals, and rightly so. But it's good to know that there are always new kinds of animals popping up all the time too!

4/1459 Good Things

Today's good thing: The Middle East is going to be negatively impacted by climate change a lot in the future, so this plan will be really amazing if they can pull it off. It might become the wave of the future for the whole planet!

1/1459 Good Things

Since my first set of good things posts were a countdown of days till the Inauguration yesterday, it only seemed fitting to keep going in that vein. So, 1459 is the amount of days from now till the 2025 presidential inauguration, only this time, it's an arbitrary marking of time, and not something I'm really looking forward to!

Today's good thing: Jeff Bezos has a lot to catch up on in terms of donations. MacKenzie Scott is doing way better than him!

515/515 Good Things

 (Source)

I made this screencap to commemorate this day. This day worthy of joyous celebration. I started this project part way through the Trump presidency as a way to remind myself that there are still, even in this time, even in the worst of worst times, good things happening in the world. The world is falling apart, a pandemic is ravaging the planet, people in power are choosing to work only to get richer, and the "little" people are suffering. But there are still good things happening, and they deserve to be known and remembered. They deserve our attention.

I have thought long and hard about what to do when this man's presidency comes to an end. Do I wrap up this project? It takes a lot of work to track down the good news stories. Maybe I should just be done with it. But there is still a huge need to remind ourselves that there is good in the world, even with a new administration, that I feel compelled to keep going with it. I will probably tweak the format a bit, but I get enough out of this that I don't want to stop it now.

So, if you have enjoyed reading these posts over the last couple years, you'll get to continue enjoying them!
